Chocolate, chestnut and orange cake
Ingredients
| For the cake 400g peeled chestnuts 125 caster sugar 125g chocolate (min 70% cocoa solids) 100g butter |
For the icing 125g chocolate (min 70% cocoa solids) 15g butter 15ml fresh orange juice 15ml grated orange rind |
Instructions
Cake
1 Place the peeled chestnuts and sugar in a food processor and whizz until smooth.
2 Cut the chocolate and butter into small pieces and melt in a large saucepan.
3 Add the chestnut and sugar paste to the chocolate and mix until smooth.
4 Turn into a greased cake tin and chill in the fridge overnight.
Icing
1 To make the icing, melt the chocolate with the butter, orange juice and rind and stir until smooth.
2 Spread over the cake and leave to set in the fridge.
3 Cut into slices before serving.
